IMPORTANT! YOU NEED QUAKE I v1.08 TO RUN THIS PACK WITHOUT PROBLEMS!
Runner's Delight has some maps that contain too much info for versions
1.06 and below. Therefor, get 1.08 from <http://www.idsoftware.com/>.
You will also need more memory than the minimum system requirements
for Quake (you need 12 mb or more).

* Installation *

To run the levels, create a directory in your
Quake directory called rde (e.g. c:\quake\rde)
and copy (Extract) pak0.pak there...
Next, start Quake with

    quake.exe -game rde -winmem 12

(accompanied by whatever additional parameters you like)
You will then get to see the four new startdemos. To start
playing Runner's Delight, pull down the console (~) in Quake
and type

    playdemo intro

Now the intro movie will start, and the start map will automatically
load once the intromovie is finished. However, you can also start
the start map immediately, by typing

    map rdstart

at the console. That's it, get ready to run...

* Useful impulses (inherited from the QdQstats mod) *

Impulse 205 - Genocide (kill all monsters)
Impulse 209             - Ogre-grenade counter
Impulse 210 - Normal grenade counter
Impulse 211 - Toggle visibility of triggers
Impulse 212 - Toggle display of trigger info
Coop 2                  - "Lag-friendly" coop mode for internet-coops

(Please see the full instructions at <http://PlanetQuake.com/QdQ/stats.html>
for more details and explanations.)

* Commands important to runners *

r_drawflat 1 - Boosts your fps, which helps you to jump higher
host_framerate 0.005	- Nice for testing tricks, but NOT for recording
			  demos!! (default is 0)

* Rocketjump alias *

alias +rj "cl_pitchspeed 100000;impulse 7;+lookdown;+jump;+attack;"
alias -rj "-attack;-jump;-lookdown;cl_pitchspeed 150;impulse 7"
bind YourKey +rj

Using this alias while running backwards maintains your horizontal speed;
using it while running forward takes you up for the largest part.

!IMPORTANT FOR SINGLE PLAYER!
The start level involves some tricks you may be unfamiliar with.
See INFO.TXT (Chapter 2.3: The start level, a tutorial) for more
details!

!IMPORTANT FOR DEATHMATCH!
If you want to play Deathmatch, you can either use the '-game
rde' parameter, OR, rip the levels from the pack, and use them
with other mods. I've created all maps so that when in deathmatch
mode, NONE of the new Quake-C is required to run the levels.

If you want to play against bots, for example, just open the .pak
file, and place the levels in your dir quake/id1/maps. Now you can
start your normal bot game (for example '-game rpbot' or
'-game omicron') and play the maps. Remember that single player
on the maps is not possible without using -game rde.

===============================================================
To record demos, it's really helpful to bind some keys to
record your demos. I use this one:

   bind "ctrl" "record mydemo rdstart"

Pressing the control (Ctrl) key will drop you at the start of
rdstart with the recording running.

Info on other comfortable running bindings, patches etc. can
be found at Speed Demos Archive (<http://PlanetQuake.com/SDA/>).

===============================================================
Included within the pak file is a game mod derived from QdQstats
v1.6 by Anthony Bailey, Nolan Pflug & Stefan Schwoon.
This version differs from the normal version: in RDE, it is NOT
possible to use bunny-hopping, wall-hugging or zigzagging to gain
speed.

This patch should therefore NOT be used to record speed-runs on
other levels than the ones that belong in RDE.
